Drum Unit

The toner cartridge holds the powder that makes the print; the drum transfers it onto the paper. On Brother printers like the HL-L2320D or MFC-L2700DW they are separate parts, so you replace the toner several times before the drum needs replacing.

When the printer asks for a new drum, or when prints show streaks, grey background or marks that repeat down the page even after a new toner. A new toner alone will not fix a worn drum.

The DR-2305 drum fits Brother HL-L2300D, HL-L2340DW, HL-L2360DW, HL-L2365DW, DCP-L2520DW, DCP-L2540DN and MFC-L2700DW type printers. The DR760 drum fits the newer DCP-L2650DW, HL-L2350DW, HL-L2370DW and MFC-L2710 to L2770 models. Each product page has the full list.

No. Amida DR760 and MATRIX DR-2305 are compatible drum units from third-party makers, built to fit those Brother printers.
