UPS and power supplies in Nepal. For computers: Uniview UPS from 600 VA to 1200 VA, the Marsriva 750 VA and 1250 VA and the JDKee 1250 VA. When the power cuts or dips, a UPS switches to its battery at once, so the computer keeps running long enough to save your work and shut down properly; the Marsriva and JDKee units also even out low and high voltage with AVR.
For networks and CCTV: the SKE POE-430P mini DC UPS keeps a WiFi router, ONT or PoE access point running through load shedding, with 5, 9, 12 and 24 V and PoE outputs, and Uniview 4, 8 and 16-channel power supplies run several CCTV cameras from one box. Genuine with warranty, delivered all over Nepal (usually the same day inside Kathmandu Valley) or from our store at Putalisadak, Kathmandu.

Frequently asked questions
Which UPS size do I need for my computer?
Add up the watts of what you plug in and keep it well under the UPS's watt rating: 360 W for the Uniview 600 VA, 375 W for the Marsriva 750 VA, 720 W for the Uniview 1200 VA. One office desktop with its monitor fits 600 to 800 VA; a gaming PC or extra devices need 1200 VA or more.
How long does a UPS run a computer?
Minutes, not hours: enough to save your work and shut down properly. It lasts longer with less plugged in.
What is the difference between VA and watts?
VA is the UPS's apparent power and watts its real power; the watt figure is the one to compare with your devices. An 800 VA / 480 W UPS can run 480 W of equipment.
Does a UPS protect against low and high voltage?
A UPS with AVR (automatic voltage regulation), like the Marsriva and JDKee units, corrects low and high voltage without using the battery. Every UPS switches to battery when the voltage goes too far out of range.
How do I keep my WiFi router on during load shedding?
With a mini DC UPS such as the SKE POE-430P. Check the voltage on your router's adapter (most say 12 V, some 9 V) and connect the matching output; it also powers PoE access points and an ONT.
What is a CCTV power supply?
One box that powers several cameras from a single socket instead of one adapter per camera. The Uniview units power 4, 8 or 16 cameras.
Where can I buy a UPS in Kathmandu?
At our store at Putalisadak, Kathmandu, open every day from 10 am to 8 pm, or order online. Delivery is usually the same day inside Kathmandu Valley and 2 to 3 days elsewhere in Nepal.
